Pre-Annual Meeting Seminars

ASCO is offering four in-depth educational opportunities dedicated to topics of interest in the oncology community. 

Each seminar will be held onsite at McCormick Place, from 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 30, until 11:00 AM on Friday, May 31.

New this year! Shuttle Service will be provided for Pre-Annual Meeting Seminar attendees on Thursday afternoon between McCormick Place and downtown Chicago. 

  • Clinical Care in Oncology for the Advanced Practice Provider
    This seminar is designed to meet the educational needs of the advanced practice nurse and physician assistant. Topics covered will include trends in oncology care; standards for cancer screening; and symptom and side-effect management.

  • New Drugs in Oncology
    This seminar's focus is the theoretical and practical aspects of both recently approved drugs and those on their way to approval. Topics covered will include mechanisms of action; administration; toxicity and side-effect management; and use in the clinic.

  • Contemporary Designs for Early-Phase Clinical Trials
    This seminar will enable participants to understand the design, implementation, and analysis of early-phase clinical trials.

  • Genetics and Genomics for the Practicing Clinician
    This seminar will focus on cancer genomics and cancer genetics specifically for the clinician.  It will cover tumor and germ line topics, as well as explain the variety of tests available to the clinician and when they should be administered.

Attendees can register for the seminars in addition to their Annual Meeting registration. The seminar registration fee includes a boxed lunch on Thursday and a continental breakfast on Friday.
